My sport is Ballet. What's Your's?

What’s your sport? Sometimes my cleats are ballet or tap shoes. Other times they are golf shoes or hiking boots.

Exercise has many forms and a sport doesn’t have to be something found in a stadium with a bunch of sweaty guys throwing each other to the ground. As a lifestyle coach I like to think about exercise and being active as being “in training” daily. Training includes thinking about what kind of fuel or food you need to get through a walk or class better, as well as taking care of our body by  warming up and warming down after a workout.

Years ago, I was in New York and took some dance classes.  In one of my classes was an 80 year old woman.  It was hard for me to keep up, but that woman was amazing. She wasn’t  going to be a prima ballerina and neither was I, but she was going to keep on going and doing what she loved. I vowed that day that I would tell her story and never let being “too old” be an excuse.

So, what’s your sport? Is it golf, dance, bowling, tennis, dog walking, running, swimming or yoga? Pick one to try and mix it up….get active….change your shoes and change your life. Besides invigorating your body, trying something new also invigorates your mind…and keeps us young, no matter what your age
